Alexander Chocolate at Horatio’s Garden

In December Alexander Chocolate was invited to run a stall at Horatio’s Garden Christmas Fair in Salisbury. The charity began in memory of a Doctor’s son who died after a spinal injury and now cares for accessible gardens in NHS spinal injury centres.

Horatio's Garden, Alexander Chocolate, Charity EventsResearch shows that at times of stress, being outside with nature contributes to a feeling of wellbeing and that is what Horatio’s Gardens are all about.

The charity runs a market for locals to visit and Alexander Chocolate was invited to be one of eight externally sourced stalls at the Christmas event.

The fundraising fair was a huge success with lots of people through the doors who delighted in a range of limited edition products, local artisan food and drink, home grown seasonal bulbs and of course, chocolate.

Alex gave away free samples and a free Signature Selection Box to an ex patient of Salisbury District Hospital “because she was lovely.”

AC has already been invited back to the next event.

January Update from AC HQ

Exciting news at AC this month. Our Signature Selection Box is currently being lab tested for nutritional values via Weights and Measures, a department of the environmental health offices. That means that in four to six weeks time you’ll know exactly how many carbs, fats, fibres etc. are in your chocolates.

After the success of Spire Gin, Alexander Chocolate met with the business again yesterday to discuss another collaborative gin that is now being Spire Gin, Alexander Chocolate, Lemon Verbenaproduced. The Gin will be released just in time for Valentines Day and AC are developing another pairing chocolate to go with it.

Alexander Chocolate is working on a new bar of chocolate to go with the rose bar. It’s pink! And made with 34% white chocolate. Can you guess the completely natural ingredient that causes this fabulous colour? Salted Caramel

Created originally to pair with a dessert on the menu in a local restaurant, this chocolate was so popular that it found it’s way into our selection of offerings. Caramel is cooked to 187 degrees C, enhanced with British sea salt and encased in our 56% dark chocolate, all making for an oozing delight.

Spire Gin, Alexander Chocolate, Lemon Verbena

Spire Gin and Lemon Verbena

Having been approached by Test Valley Gin to talk botanicals used in chocolate, Spire Gin was born. The collaboration between Test Valley Gin and Alexander Chocolate also gave rise to a new chocolate; Lemon Verbena and gin.

This white chocolate has a complex flavour and delicate texture. Initial sweetness of the white chocolate is muted by the aromas of juniper tempting the olfactory to the attention when slowly the lemon verbena takes hold, giving a long lasting, elegant taste.
